- A classic characteristic of late nineteenth-century proof strikings is the pleasing contrast often achieved by the mint, in this case, garnering a "cameo" designation by PCGS. Details are incised to extreme precision in every possible area, including along the upper edge of each of the eagle's wings. Nice rim tone narrowly follows the obverse rims and swaths more widely into the reverse fields at upper left and lower right. The grade is accurately determined by the level of surface hairlines.
