Losbeschreibung: 1827 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-142. Rarity-2. Square Base 2. MS-64 (NGC). Frosty mint luster and pleasing gunmetal-gray and blue toning throughout with a dash of blue and russet in the fields. Boldly struck throughout, with satiny smooth fields and devices that show precious few signs of handling, keeping the eye appeal strong. Study with a strong loupe finds little to fault, as this handsome coin has it all, strike, grade, color and surfaces. An apparent newcomer to the census, and tied for CC#1 for the 1827 O-142 dies per the listing in the Spring 2023 revision to Stephen J. Herrman's AMBPR for Bust half dollars. PCGS# 39742.
