Abundant silvery luster persists across otherwise medium pewter gray surfaces. Exceptionally sharp in all areas with the exception of the upper right reverse periphery, which is soft to the right of the crown with original planchet texture remaining. The surfaces are exceptionally smooth for both the type and the assigned grade with no post-production blemishes of note. Though a restrike, accomplished by London coin dealer Matthew Young in 1828, this is remarkably well preserved and stands out from the crowd of similar pieces. The substantial die crack on the right side of the obverse is typical of the variety, which appears to almost always exist in restrike form.
