Lot Description

This is a richly and beautifully toned GEM 1949 half dollar. Incredible surface quality, certainly closer to MS67 than MS66 quality, the surfaces are free of serious marks or lines. A bold blue, rose, and violet hued obverse is enhanced by a brilliant satiny frost. The reverse is lighter in tone with a golden blush. The eye appeal is great. PCGS 402, NGC 108, CAC 95. There are 51 in MS66+ FBL. Just eight are graded finer. The average of the last 10 PCGS/CAC MS66+ FBL examples sold is $872 and the current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $850.
