Lot Description

Manley Die State 2.0. Frosty surfaces have plenty of good gloss and are free of detracting marks. The obverse is toned in warm steel-brown with plenty of faded mint orange color still clinging to the protected areas around the design elements are along the border. The reverse is more evenly toned in orange-brown, but shows a couple of swirls of darker steel-olive color at center and upper left. The strike is a bit soft at Liberty's bust on the obverse, also at upper reverse, but not distracting so, especially since other areas showcase bold to sharp detail. This is a popular type variety for the 1806 Draped Bust half cent issue, and this premium Choice AU presents as nicely as many lower end Uncs that we have handled.
