1826 Matron Head Cent. N-1. Rarity-2. MS-61 BN (NGC). An impressive Mint State example with lustrous medium olive-brown surfaces and pretty silvery-blue and rose overtones. Sharply struck from an intermediate state of the dies with a rim break over star 6. Noteworthy grade for this less common date and probably not far outside the Condition Census conversation for the variety as well. Provenance: From the John McBride Collection. Earlier ex Q.
