- The Crimson Collection. Bolender-1, BB-21. When a collector decides to acquire a flowing hair dollar for type, B-1 makes a popular choice on account of the inaugural variety for 1795 as well as the fact that it ranks as one of the common die-marriages. In years past, these were sometimes listed as "1795/1195" because 7 in the date has obviously been repunched over an errant "1".
Unexpected for the VF-30 level, the reverse offers meager evidence of flowline texture in the periphery, most noticeable at between many letters. Delicate golden highlights stand out against the overall pewter-grey and definitely creates pleasing visual appeal. A minor old scrape falls away from the fifth star but really, there are no notable marks on either side.
