1723 Rosa Americana Penny. Martin 2.6-Eb.2, W-1278. Rarity-4. AU-58 (PCGS). 118.83 grains. Abundant brassy-yellow remains, toned down to brown on highest points of the design. A handsome specimen with just a few minor scattered natural pits, a few very small areas of typical surface roughness confined to the peripheries, and a little rim bruise above the letter R in ROSA. This would be an outstanding type coin in a high grade collection, with eye appeal far surpassing typically offered specimens in this grade. Provenance: From our sale of the Ted L.
