Mintage: 33,500. 55 graded MS-64, 53 higher at NGC. Fleeting hairlines of the utmost irrelevancy may be seen at specific viewing and lighting angles, but if these are the most egregious grade-limiting factors, the coin would be destined for immediate upgrade. It possesses a terrific strike for the type that incorporates most all of the feather detail at the eagle's shoulder, as well as incisive delineation of Liberty's tresses, albeit with the softness associated with the earlier Indian tens. Color could not be more ideal and the swirling, satiny luster generally suffers but a few mere grazes on the reverse, and several minuscule imperfections on the obverse over the cheek and neck. A conditionally scarce specimen whose value seems to slowly inch upward, year after year.
