- 1809/'6' Classic Head Half Cent. C-5. Rarity-1. 9/Inverted 9. AU-55 BN (NGC). Deep chocolate brown patina throughout with traces of original mint color here and there, and attractive, virtually abrasion free surfaces with crisp detail. This is a wholly satisfying piece with substantial appeal. Long thought to be an overdate, conventional wisdom lays this variety at the foot of an inverted numeral punch instead.
