From the Sig and Louise Collection A lovely, original AU coin with rich reddish-orange gold and iridescent toning around the recesses of the well struck devices. Very little wear is noted and we do see a few teeny marks from its very brief stay in commerce. Only 13,771 were struck, and while Dave Akers, Ron Guth, and Jeff Garrett say that it is one of the more common dates, that is only true in grades up to XF, they are very scarce in higher grade AU. PCGS 20, NGC 22, CAC 2. NO CAC AU53 has ever sold in auction. The last PCGS AU53 sold in the 2017 FUN auction for $3,055 and the current PCGS value is listed at $3,650. Having been off the market in this old time holding since the 1930s, we know there will be stiff competition to bring home this coin with lots of southern charm. Cert. Number 35692686 PCGS # 7751
