Lot Description

Choice original AU survivor from a mintage of 62,710 pieces. Among the rarest Dahlonega half eagle in higher grades, only a handful of uncirculated pieces are known. This pleasing slider reveals only light wear and displays attractive, original lemon-gold coloration. There is nice mint field luster remaining that accentuates the coin as it is rotated. As is typical the striking detail is a bit weak, thought the mintmark is bold. An exciting opportunity for the Southern gold collector!
