Lot Description

72.0 grains. This is a choice Small Planchet Pine Tree at the VF level with a circulated cameo appearance to both sides. The fields are deep steely-charcoal and support lighter pewter gray motifs. The strike is nicely centered on the reverse with complete outer border beading, sharp inner beaded circle, and all letters and numerals bold apart from minor softness to the N in NEW. The obverse is only trivially off center to 5 o'clock with no outer border beading at lower right, but all other design elements bold to sharp for the grade. Microscopic roughness is hardly worth mentioning, and there are no marks of consequence. Really a lovely mid-grade example of a Noe number that is particularly popular for type purposes.
