Lot Description
1873-CC Seated Liberty Dime. Arrows. Fortin-101, the only known dies. VF-20 (NGC). Pale lilac gray surfaces yield few marks upon examination, even under low magnification. Second only to the 1874-CC dime in rarity within the denomination from the Carson City Mint—the unique 1873-CC No Arrows dime is not factored into the equation for obvious reasons. Another classic rarity in the series, struck to the tune of 18,791 pieces or just $1,879.10 face value! We note that just 18 examples of the date, from the catch-all VF designation through MS-65, have been graded by NGC. This specimen should be an adequate addition to any Liberty Seated dime set, and perhaps an upgrade for many specialists as well. We expect a lot of attention will be upon this one when it enters the bidding arena!
