1847-O Liberty Seated Quarter. Briggs 1-A. AU-50 (PCGS). Underlying luster supports pale champagne highlights on largely brilliant surfaces. The 1847-O is one of the rarest and most conditionally challenging No Motto quarters from New Orleans, and even AU examples such as this are rated as Rarity-5+ in Larry Briggs' 1991 reference on this series. A coin that is sure to appeal to advanced collectors of Liberty Seated or New Orleans Mint coinage. Provenance: From the Steve Studer Collection.
