Lot Description

1808 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-107a. Rarity-2. MS-63 (PCGS). A delightful satiny sheen encompasses both sides of this outstanding Mint State example. Well struck with small amounts of gold-tan and olive patina on each side, occurring mainly near the borders. Typical radial die cracks are seen on each side as noted for this later die state, but the carefully preserved surfaces are free of post-strike distractions. Rarely are these early Capped Bust half dollars found with such strong eye appeal as well has a solid technical grade. Provenance: From the Richard Jewell Collection. PCGS# 6090. NGC ID: 24EP.
