1862/1 Liberty Quarter Eagle. FS-301. AU-53 (NGC). A rare-to-very rare variety in all grades, the 1862/1 is all but unobtainable in Mint State. An obviously important offering for the specialist, the present lot highlights a minimally worn, predominantly lustrous AU. Generally bold in detail, with pretty rose-gold color and only the expected number of mostly small-size abrasions for a lightly circulated gold coin from the Civil War era.
