Lot Description

This essentially untoned Gem has sharp strike detail and a smooth, softly frosted texture. Among the most readily available early date Walking Liberty half dollars from the Denver Mint, the 1929-D is an excellent candidate for an advanced type set. Many of the 1,001,200 pieces produced were retained in federal vaults after the onset of the Great Depression, only for some to find their way into the hands of contemporary numismatists during the 1930s.
