Lot Description

1793 Flowing Hair Cent. Wreath Reverse. S-9. Rarity-2. Vine and Bars Edge. Good-4 (PCGS). This well worn example retains sufficiently bold detail to allow for full appreciation of this classic early U.S. Mint design. The date is a trifle weak, word STATES on the reverse similar, lower right portion of the wreath soft, but in all cases the major design elements are discernible. Dark charcoal-copper surfaces with lighter rose high points, microgranular overall, trio of pits at left obverse and reverse borders. There are few significant marks, however, and the only one that warrants individual attention is a reverse scratch after the letter E in ONE. PCGS# 35459. NGC ID: 223H.
