Lot Description
THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION Ex Ashland City. DESIRABLE Civil War issue. This coin lives up to the expectation of the date, which is to have well defined design elements. Snowy white frost blankets creamy smooth surfaces. Just a hint of champagne gold tone kisses the fields. Nary a mark to be found even with strong magnification! A date that suffered the effects of wartime hoarding, which makes the existence of so few GEM examples even more perplexing! PCGS 22, NGC 22. PCGS Price Guide is $5,750. This coin’s last appearance was in June 2016 where it sold for $3,525. We expect it to sell for more with this stronger market and the demand for white specimens. Bid accordingly Cert. Number 2016039-017 PCGS # 6302
