Lot Description

1859 Liberty Seated Half Dime. Proof-63 (NGC). CAC. Warm olive-gold surfaces exhibit lightly frosted motifs and reflective fields. From an obverse die by Anthony Paquet that differs in several ways from the usually seen die type. For instance, Liberty is seated in a more upright position and appears slimmer than usual, and the stars have central holes. Repunched date numerals as seen on all Proofs of the date. One of 800 Proofs of the date struck.
