Lot Description
1793 Flowing Hair Cent. Wreath Reverse. S-11A. Rarity-4+. Vine and Bars Edge. Fine-15 (PCGS). A relatively glossy example with marbled deep copper and medium brown patina. Boldly defined overall, mentionable softness of detail is confined to the lower reverse border where the denomination 1/100 and the adjacent ribbon ends are faint. Light verdigris is scattered about, a few minor marks, and a couple of shallow edge bumps along the lower left reverse. Pleasing Fine quality for this one-year large cent design type and the scarcest of three sub-varieties for the Sheldon 11 die pair. Provenance: From our sale of the Collection of John Quigley Pratt, 1861-1948, November 2016 Baltimore Auction, lot 146. PCGS# 1347. NGC ID: 223H. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
