- This lightly toned 1917-D is perfect for any serious Buffalo collector. Subtle amber-gold iridescence blends with extremely bright, satiny luster. The strike is remarkably strong when compared to others of the same issue, with details in the braid, chin, date and bison's face fully formed. Imperfections are virtually nonexistent, making the present coin strong for its assigned grade. Quite scarce even in the finer circulated grades, the 1917-D is even more elusive at the uppermost level of Gem Mint State preservation offered here. This is one of the very finest certified and is sure to sell for a premium bid commensurate with its condition rarity and numismatic significance.
