1846-O Seated Liberty Half Dollar. Medium Date. WB-101. MS-62 (PCGS). OGH. A much scarcer issue in Mint State than a respectable mintage of 2.3 million coins might imply, the 1846-O Half seems to have suffered a greater-than-average rate of attrition through circulation. This fortunate survivor piece is fully prooflike in finish, as typically seen for the issue, with warm sandy-gray patina to the reverse. On the reverse we note mottled cobalt-blue and copper-rose peripheral toning around a lighter, silver-gray center. Overall sharply struck, and free of outwardly detracting abrasions.
