Lot Description

This Choice Uncirculated example displays attractive sea-blue and purple-russet toning at the margins and a reddish glow throughout the interiors. There are no mentionable surface abrasions and this coin's eye appeal is exceptional. A full strike exists throughout both sides. It should be noted that high grade Seated halves from the 1870s are scarce. Many coins were exported or remained undistributed, only to be melted and converted to silver bullion.
