Lot Description

1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 10-E, W-2865. Rarity-5. Mailed Bust Left. VG-8 (PCGS). Deep golden-brown with golden-tan high points. Late obverse state, swelling eliminates most of AUCT, die cracks at TO, rim tight to tops of CTORI and CO, faint microgranularity and light, old scratches come to light under low magnification, reverse aligned at 270 degrees, weak at date and INDE ET, natural planchet fissure, as struck, at Liberty's branch hand, a faint, old scratch across Liberty's legs best viewed with a loupe. A visually acceptable example of a scarce variety. PCGS# 349.
