1903-S Barber Quarter. MS-64 (NGC). CAC. This satiny and beautiful near-Gem exhibits multicolored peripheral toning that is particularly vivid and varied on the reverse. Fully struck throughout with a smooth and inviting appearance. Although far from the rarest circulation strike Barber quarter, the 1903-S is elusive in all Mint State grades. Most of the 1,036,000 coins struck were released into circulation and remained there until well worn or lost. This is one of the nicest examples that we have handled in recent memory - a coin that is worthy of a premium bid. NGC Census: 16; 19 finer (MS-66 finest). PCGS# 5636. NGC ID: 23YX.
