Lot Description

Lovely toning in iridescent powder blue and pale lilac with enhancing crescents of even more vivid reddish-gold at the lower right obverse and upper right reverse borders. The strike detail is full for even the most trivial design elements, and the level of surface preservation is exceptional. The final year Proof issue in the Liberty Head nickel series, the 1912 is readily obtainable in an absolute sense, but is scarce when found with the quality offered here.
