Lot Description

Undated (ca. 1793-1795) Kentucky Token. W-8810. Rarity-5. Copper. LANCASTER Edge. MS-62 BN (PCGS). 186.6 grains. Near-fully struck and quite attractive, this olive and light brown example retains subtle traces of original luster. The familiar obverse die crack extends on either side of the hand from the scroll. The lettering on the edge overlaps, creating the interesting geographical locale of LANCASTERONDON! Whitman-8810 offered here is a scarce variety; most examples are Plain Edge pieces (W-8800).
