Lot Description

Splashes of sandy-gold iridescence drift over both sides and speak volumes about the originality of this handsome specimen. The 1939 is the median rarity in the Proof Walking Liberty half dollar series, survivors scarcer than those of the 1940, 1941 and 1942 issues but not as elusive as those of the 1936 to 1938 deliveries. As an expertly preserved NGC Proof-68 the coin offered here is a noteworthy condition rarity that will please even the most discerning numismatist.
