Lot Description

Bold and handsome Extremely Fine preservation for this eagerly sought, yet challenging Carson City Mint double eagle issue. Plenty of mint luster remains, the fields noticeably semi-reflective when the coin is viewed with the aid of direct lighting. Color is a warm, even olive-gold, and the detail is bold in most areas. A great collector grade 1879-CC $20, and made even more desirable by coveted CAC approval at the EF-40 level.
