Lot Description
THE GEORGE SCHWENK COLLECTION Another wonderful GEM in an old green tag holder. Rich satiny, brilliant luster radiates and glows boldly on both sides. Both sides are softly kissed with clear gold tone and some deeper antique hues. Generally well struck throughout, most of Liberty's details are seen and defined, with just some slight weakness at Liberty's head, shield, and toes. The surfaces are clean and free of any serious distractions, even using a strong glass you will find no marks or lines of any consequence. The eye appeal is excellent. PCGS 45, NGC 27, CAC 11. The most recent PCGS/CAC example to sell in auction brought $6,463 back in March 2015 (that was eight years ago and in a much weaker market). The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $5,000. Only three are graded finer at PCGS, none of which have ever sold in auction. This attractive PQ GEM is worthy of another wonderful set. Cert. Number 3153096 PCGS # 5740
