Lot Description

Die State 139.1. A gleaming, highly lustrous near-Gem, with absolutely beautiful rich gold and cobalt-blue toning at the borders. Well struck save for slight flatness on the obverse stars and the outer border denticulation. An apparent newcomer to the census for the 1827 O-139 dies as reported in the Spring 2025 revision to Stephen J. Herrman's AMBPR for Bust half dollars, as a PCGS MS-64 this coin ranks CC#2 for the variety.
