Lot Description

Mottled olive-gray patina over otherwise pinkish-silver surfaces. Some luster remains, and the detail is bold in most areas. In a series replete with underrated rarities, the 1871-S stands out as one of the most elusive Liberty Seated quarters from the San Francisco Mint. Survivors from a paltry mintage of 30,900 coins represent a significant find at all levels of preservation, especially those that approach Mint State.
