The Blackhawk Collection. 102 graded MS-64, 47 higher at PCGS. While not particularly rare through the choice grade level, 1916-S noticeably diminishes in availability at MS-64 and up. A compelling example, delightful gold luster dominates this desirable example, aside from sea-green iridescence in the lower obverse area. Matte texture typical of the date absolutely shines and benefits from careful preservation that kept stray marks at bay. San Francisco struck no more Indian half-eagles after 1916-S.
