Losbeschreibung: 1723/2 Wood's Hibernia Halfpenny. Martin 4.60-Da.1, W-12850. Rarity-2. AU-53 BN (NGC). Well struck on a hard, tight planchet, this coin is ideally centered with all major design elements suitably bold for both the type and the assigned grade. The surfaces are satiny in texture with good gloss, both sides warmly and evenly toned in copper-brown. A thin, shallow planchet fissure on King George's bust is as made, sizeable or otherwise singularly distracting marks conspicuous by their absence. For the grade, it is difficult for us to imagine a more inviting Wood's Hibernia halfpenny for inclusion in a type set. The overdate feature is bold and adds further desirability. PCGS# 183.
