- Description du lot
- 1854 Pattern Cent. Judd-159, Pollock-186. Rarity-7+. Proof-64 BN (PCGS). The obverse small cent die was created by a portrait lathe that used an 1854 silver dollar as a model. The portrait lathe caused many circular die lines culminating at the center, and the result has left blurry design features. The 4 in the date is missing the crossbar and resembles a 1. On the well-made reverse die, 1 CENT is encircled by an oak and acorn wreath. Struck in copper with a plain edge. Chocolate-brown with blue-green accents. A few contact marks are noted on the reverse that serve to limit the grade.
