Lot Description

This boldly struck early date Indian cent displays deep, rich, medium orange mint color and boasts full Gem quality throughout. The surfaces are handsome and appealing with no marks of any consequence with a softly frosted finish. According to Rick Snow (2014), most examples of these issues "had [a] short round-trip from the Mint, to the banks and back to the Mint again, where they were melted." A full Red Gem is a real prize for the issue and represents a significant opportunity to the discriminating collector.
