1859-S Liberty Head Half Eagle. VF-30 (PCGS). The surfaces are pleasing, nicer than usually encountered for the grade level in fact. Suitably bold in detail, and free of all but light wear, this coin represents an important find for the advanced collector of dated Liberty gold coinage. The original mintage of the 1859-S Half Eagle is just 13,220 pieces, the vast majority of which coins have long since been lost to commercial use. PCGS# 8283. NGC ID: 25VE.
