FROM THE M & S PETTY COLLECTION A bold and flashy lustrous untoned Prooflike and brilliant 1868 silver dollar. One of just two examples to earn the PL designation, this is a very rare and impressive example. Well struck and frosty, on initial appearance you would think this is a Proof. A few minor lines are seen in the mirrored fields. The eye appeal is unique and alluring for sure. PCGS 0, NGC 1. A non-PL NGC MS63 sold in October 2021 for $5,520 and the current Collectors Universe value is listed at $8,000.
