1858/7 Flying Eagle Cent. Large Letters. Snow-1, FS-301 (FS-006). Snow Die Stage A. MS-63 (NGC). This is the most eagerly sought die stage of this popular Flying Eagle Cent overdate, attributable by bold remnants of the 7 underdigit at the upper-right corner of the second digit 8 in the date. There is also a sharp "die chip" in the field between the eagle's breast and the first digit 8 in the date that could be the base of a misplaced digit 1. With satiny mint bloom and delicate rose iridescence, this is a beautiful coin at the Choice Mint State grade level. Softness of strike is minor for the type and largely confined to the right-peripheral areas on both sides.
