Lot Description
This minimally toned 1917-D is perfect for any serious Buffalo nickel collector. Faint champagne-gold iridescence blends with extremely bright, satiny mint luster. The strike is impressively strong when compared to others of the same issue, with details in the Native American's portrait bold to sharp, although the bison's head is somewhat soft. Handling marks and other blemishes are virtually nonexistent, making the present coin strong for its assigned grade. Quite scarce even in the finer circulated grades, the 1917-D is even more elusive at the uppermost level of Gem Mint State preservation offered here. This is one of the finer certified and is sure to sell for a premium bid commensurate with its condition rarity and numismatic desirability.
