Lot Description
THE BOYLSTON COLLECTION A SLEEPER DATE and eye popping beauty! Creamy white luster encompasses extraordinarily mark-free surfaces. A couple of faint scratches to the left of the date is all that is keeping this coin from an MS-64+ or even MS-65 grade (no guarantees, but boy is it nice!). Far above average strike for the date with crisp hair definition and complete eagle feathers. WB-19, Rarity-5. Lg. O. Identifying features are die lines from the rock beneath the foot and on the reverse there are die lines in the dentils beneath the word HALF and a file line from dentil to the second T of STATES. Scarce and especially desirable in this lofty state of preservation. PCGS 5, NGC 5. Only 4 pieces grade finer. The highest graded piece is MS65. PCGS Price Guide value is $4,750. Six long years ago, was the last appearance of this coin at auction and It fetched $3,290 in February 2015. With the price differential between an MS-64 and 65 grade being significant and considering the quality of the piece offered herewith, we can’t but help think this coin will cause a stir of spirited bidding. Good luck! Cert. Number 32252507 PCGS # 6246.00
