Lot Description
1795 Flowing Hair Half Dime. LM-8, V-5. Rarity-3. Good-6 (PCGS). This is the early state of the dies without the often-seen, nearly bisecting obverse crack from the border outside the letter Y in LIBERTY. Dominant silver-gray patina with flickers of more vivid golden-apricot and powder-blue undertones coming into view at direct angles. Twenty degree clockwise reverse die rotation, with a few widely spaced adjustments marks (as made) on the obverse. All major design elements are at least discernible despite the fact that this coin has acquired overall heavy wear.
