Lot Description

A very desirable draped bust half eagle type coin, all 1803's feature the overdate. An example of Bass-Dannreuther Die State c/c with a long, curved crack through the base of the date. The surfaces are originally toned a pleasing almond-gold and bold luster shines in the protected areas. Although mint-made adjustment marks are noted on the reverse the wear overall is gentle over the high-points of the design.
