Lot Description

A rare second offering for a premium BU example of this conditionally challenging Type II double eagle issue. Fully lustrous with a satin to softly frosted texture, the surfaces are further enhanced by wonderfully original color in warm rose-gold. Strike detail is impressive by the standards of the type, being sharp in most areas and nowhere less than bold. A light scuff in the left obverse field is noted, otherwise this minimally marked example is solidly in the Select Uncirculated category. Thoroughly PQ, and highly attractive to further justify aggressive bidding.
