- The Small Date is the usual variety for the 1854 double eagle but it remains a noted conditional rarity in Mint State, with PCGS only having certified about 50 coins in MS60 and above. An inviting uncirculated example with smooth surfaces for the grade, a nice strike and lovely luster.
