Lot Description
This CHOICE early Seated Liberty dollar is an old friend of ours, appearing as lot 5 in our May 2019 Regency Auction, from the Issaquah Estate Collection. We loved the coin then, and still do! Both sides are evenly covered by wonderful deeper original toning; the obverse has shades of evergreen/rose/pale blue, while the reverse has navy/purple colors. Miss Liberty and the details are sharply struck and stand out, emboldened by a strong luster that glows from all over. To the naked eye you don't see much due to the toning, however, when using a strong glass you can see some scattered light ticks and lines. The eye appeal is refreshing! PCGS 18, NGC 7, CAC 8. The current published prices are $7,500 in the CAC CPG and $6,750 in the Collectors Universe Price Guide, but with most recent example bringing $15,275 in our May 2021 Regency Auction, probable that this CHOICE example will bring more. Only six are graded higher, and a PCGS/CAC MS64 will cost $30,000+ in this market, so be sure that you do not let this one get away! Cert. Number 13214205 PCGS # 6929
