Lustrous satin to softly frosted surfaces with a boldly executed strike and lovely medium gold patina. As the most frequently encountered Charlotte Mint quarter eagle in today's market, the 1847-C is a perennial favorite among mintmarked gold type collectors. This is one of the finer circulated survivors known to the major third party certification services, a coin that is sure to see spirited bidding at auction. Mintage: 23,226 pieces.
