- 1787 New Jersey Copper. Maris 28-L, W-5065. Rarity-3. Straight Plough Beam, Outlined Shield. VF-30 (PCGS).
151.0 grains. A pleasing specimen of a charming variety. Handsome glossy light brown, even but for some mild staining at the upper right corner of the shield. Nicely centered, problem free, and well balanced, this is a highly collectible specimen of the Maris number. Most of the SHI Census is populated by EF coins, exceeded by only the Mills-Picker-Ish coin and the Newman coin.
Provenance: From the E Pluribus Unum Collection.
PCGS# 767896.
